Message from Mrs. Ruhlman & Virtual Learning Info.

First off, I miss all my students!! I hope you all are staying well and as healthy as possible.  By now all students should've gotten an email (to your school email) saying that you have been added to the orchestra "team."  I will continue to add announcements to my class page for parents and those that need it.  Otherwise, all optional assignments, needed files, and other communication will mostly happen from your team.  Please be sure to check your school email regularly.  A couple of things:

1) I understand many of you left your instruments at school :(...However, most optional assignments will have modifications so you can participate somewhat without an instrument.  No one has access to the school and is allowed inside yet.  When the school and county make a plan to safely pick-up and return instruments I will let you all know.  We are all navigating through this strange time together so it is important that we communicate.

2) My "class time" will be consistently on Tuesdays from 9:30am - 11:30.  That is the time in which you can expect to see new optional assignments posted on your team page.  My assigned "office hours" are On Thursdays from 1:30 - 3:00pm.  I will be sitting at my computer monitoring my emails at that time should you have a question o concern and need an immediate response.

3) The 3rd quarter (the last one - no 4th quarter) will end on April 24th.  I encourage you all to check your 3rd quarter grades on stuentvue or parentvue now. If here are any 3rd quarter grade - specifically playing tests - that you would like to retake and try for a higher grade you may do so until April 24.  All you need to do is record your playing test section, email me the recording as an attachment, and I will grade accordingly.

4) There are no new grades or new material being introduced beyond the last day we had school (March 13). Please keep in mind all assignments posted on teams are optional but I highly encourage you to participate. Some assignments may seem overly easy or slightly difficult.  Please keep in mind I am creating assignments to meets the needs of all 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students.

Try to stay positive and practice social distancing so we can get back to "normal" soon!
