Virtual Learning and Online Resources
ONLINE RESOURCES:
  1. #GoOpenVA from VDOE— This site was created by the VDOE and is maintained by them for all VA Admin, Educators, and Students. All of the online resources that can be accessed are FREE and available to all. You can find information easily by subject (ALL subjects are available-Core and ENCORE as well as World Languages, etc.), grade level and all by VA Standards of Learning objectives. I have created BTMS Groups by grade level so that you all can work together to compile resources and add them to your group for all members to access.  Access by going to the direct link: #GoOpenVA (goopenva.org) and when you go to sign in, choose through Clever. The Help Center is easy to navigate and the site is very user friendly. 👍 Image.jpeg
  2. Online Resources from PWCS— PWCS “Home Learning” has online resources for families. It can be found on the county web site directly at:  PWCS Home LearningImage.jpeg
  3. Flocabulary— Benton has a school-wide subscription to Flocabulary and they have resources available in all subject areas. The link for Flocabulary is on our web site under “Class Pages/Student Links’ and it will take you directly to the Flocabulary home page. Look for communication from your teacher(s) about “Joining their Class”. 😊 Students will use their Office 365 credentials (username-full email address/password). If you need any assistance with the site, please contact your teacher directly.   https://Flocabulary.com Image.jpeg
  4. IXL—Benton has a school-wide subscription for Math and Language Arts with IXL already but luckily they have added Science and Social Studies access also now for FREE.  Woohoo 🙌!! IXL is accessed directly through CLEVER and the link to get to CLEVER is on our web site under “Class Pages/Student Links”. Students can access it from that link or also from their O365 account, on the Home page, go to the ‘waffle’ (upper left-hand corner) and click on it and then choose “All Apps” and then choose Clever.Image.jpeg
  5. SOL Pass—Benton has a school-wide subscription to this site but we are not allowed to post the username/password on our web site/teacher pages or in mass emails to parents/students. If a student needs the log in information, please contact your teacher directly for the login credentials. When attempting to log in, you first choose “Middle School” at the top (blue button in middle) and then from the drop down, start typing in ‘Benton’ to find our school, then click on the school name and then enter the password.  This site is great for reviewing the specific subject SOL objectives. 6. BrainPop— Benton has a school-wide subscription to this site but we are not allowed to post the username/password on our web site/teacher pages or in mass emails to parents/students. If a student has forgotten the username/password, they email their teacher directly to request the login credentials.  Direct link: https://www.brainpop.com/ Image.jpeg
  7. Office 365 is one of our best resources for working online with your teachers.  With this digitally secure environment, teachers and students can collaborate virtually through many of the Microsoft apps.  Some of you are already using Microsoft TEAMS with your teachers and even more are beginning to explore that possibility.  When you are in your O365 account, on the Home Page, you can choose TEAMS under “All Apps” to see all of your classes and have direct access with your teacher and learning materials.Image.jpeg
