The Benton Middle School library is proud to announce its participation in the 2016-2017 Virginia Readers’ Choice Program. The purpose of the program is to encourage young readers to become better acquainted with contemporary books with outstanding literary appeal, to broaden students’ awareness of literature as a life-long pleasure and to honor favorite books and their authors.
Each year the Virginia State Reading Association publishes a reading list for the middle school level and in the spring a book from that list is selected, by the popular vote of participating students, to receive an award from the association. To become eligible to vote ,the student must read at least four of the nominated books in their entirety. To provide proof that the book was read, the student took an on-line reading check quiz.
