I am excited to begin my 5th year as the principal of Benton Middle School. Our school motto is ‘Better Together.’ As we continue to work through a generational pandemic with our school community, this motto rings true. I am excited to work together to continue our focus on keeping our kids safe, healthy, and engaged academically. Prior to joining our Benton team in 2017, I spent 12 years working in various roles in FCPS at Poe Middle School and Rocky Run Middle School. I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, and attended SUNY Brockport for my undergraduate studies. I moved to Virginia in 2005 and earned my Masters in Education Leadership from George Mason University shortly after. In addition to being a middle school principal, I am also a proud middle school parent of two 6th graders in PWCS. Do not hesitate to reach out to our team with any questions you have. Go Cougars!

My passion for making our school a wonderful learning experience extends to our students, parents, staff, and the community. I am looking forward to working for our sixth-grade students and their families. Please reach out to me with any questions or ideas you may have to make Benton even better.  A few things I enjoy outside of school are traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.

Have a Paws-itively great year!!

It is my pleasure to work with the

I am very excited to be working with our wonderful eighth graders and their families! This is my 14th year at Benton and my 32nd year working with middle school students. During my career, I have taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Social Studies, Mathematics, and Language Arts. It has been my privilege to serve my school as team leader, advisory council chairman, lead mentor, NJHS sponsor, and administrator.  I earned my undergraduate, master’s degree, and Educational Specialist degree from Virginia Tech. I am the mother of two terrific sons and three very spoiled dogs. I learn something every day, and the students are my best teachers. Please
reach out to me if I can be of any help. Together, we will make it a great year!
