The Bentonbots robotics team is a competition based extracurricular activity. Students work in small teams to design, build, and program a robot using the VEX Robotics platform to compete in tournaments against other middle and high schools. Robotics is a sport for the mind; it blends applied physics, mathematics, programming, prototyping and design, integrated problem solving, teamwork and leadership. Students who are successful in robotics must work well under pressure and work well with others.

For the 2020-2021 season, practices will start virtually beginning Wednesday October 21 at 3:00 pm.  Weekly virtual practice meetings will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:00 pm.  This situation is new to all of us so adjustments may be made to this practice schedule as the season progresses.  If/when in-person practices are allowed, they will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00-5:00 pm.

We do not have our competition schedule yet; most event partners are still trying to work out the details for hosting an event during the COVID-19 pandemic.  We anticipate that an event in January may be the first event in which we will participate.
